
With sweeping landscapes, rich heritage and creative energy, Midlothian has all the ingredients of a memorable visitor experience, it just needed the world to see it.


After a tender process, Midlothian Council’s Economic Development Service appointed us to produce a suite of tourism marketing videos for their Locate in Midlothian brand that would shine a light on the region’s most compelling attractions. The brief was clear: create content that inspires exploration, captures local character, and gives Midlothian a confident digital voice.
We delivered four themed films:
1. History & Heritage – A journey through time, visiting the places that have made Midlothian what it is today.
2. Arts & Culture – Celebrating local makers, community stories and creativity.
3. Outdoor Adventures – Showcasing the natural beauty of Midlothian, it’s scenic trails, unique experiences and activities.
4. Hidden Gems – Shining a light on off-the-beaten-track spots and local secrets.


Each film was designed for maximum versatility; presenter-led, story-driven with a unique cinematic style to reflect the subject and time of year. We managed the project from start to finish, including arranging locations, scripting, filming, drone footage, editing, graphics and sound. To bring warmth and authenticity to the voiceover, we collaborated with local actor and voiceover artist Wendy Gilmour who added a familiar tone that truly connects with viewers.
This project was funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Programme 2022-2025, administered by Midlothian Council.
